1. Business Analyst Opportunity in Houston

    Role Title: Business Analyst/Information Management

    Role Description:

    • Collaborate with customers, gathering and modeling business requirement/data, business processes, and other business rules in order to ensure alternatives have been carefully considered and that the chosen Information Management solution meets business objectives
    • Elicits business requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, requirements workshops, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints
    • Compiles high-level business stakeholder and user requirements into functional process and information management requirements
    • Works closely with document controllers
    • Involved in testing, training and implementation of Documentum solutions
    • Provide ongoing process support to project stakeholders
    • Consult to IT and business partner on applying Information Management technology to business opportunities and planning and implementation of cross-functional information management needs
    • Responsible for documenting, developing and finalizing business and functional information management/Content Management requirements
    • Apply the appropriate business analysis tools and methods as needed, in support of Documentum, or in support of the study of proposed changes to the business processes
    • Knowledge of the processes, practices and tools of information management disciplines: demonstrate familiarity of information management principles and practices including IM policy and standards, information retention, electronic document management, metadata tagging, active and inactive records management, and copyright compliance
    • Reviews and makes assessments related to internal and external customer feedback, metrics, policy and regulatory changes, work flow reviews, root cause data, new business strategies, etc. for potential information management and/or process changes

    Role Requirements:

    • Demonstrated practitioner of business analysis, with 5 plus year experience (especially in Oil & Gas)
    • Proficiency in Windows file systems, network drives, and file permissions
    • Basic understanding of SharePoint (2010) sites
    • Experience with mid-large-scale organizations
    • Excellent active listening skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines

    Preferred Skills:

    • Knowledge of electronic document management systems, especially Documentum
    • Advanced understanding of SharePoint document libraries and custom lists
    • Experience working with personnel with limited computer proficiency
    • Experience working with Operations/Field personnel in the Oil & Gas industry
    • Basic understanding of Engineering documents and drawings (i.e. P&IDs)
